United Breaks Guitars

Oops, we forgot to blog about this really cool video. We're so forgetful sometimes. Anyway, whilst trawling about on YouTube we saw this very funny vid called "United Breaks Guitars." From what we understand, this guy was on a United Airlines flight going to a gig and when he looks out of his window he sees a member of staff just throwing is guitar case around as if it was just a bit of junk.

Well it turns out that the guitar was very much broken because of this and the airline wouldn't do anything to compensate. A year goes by and Dave Carrol gets no compensation so makes a cool video on Youtube which has been getting millions of hits in just a matter of days. Seemingly they have offered to compensate but it might be a little too late. There's been so much bad press about it that people are going to think twice about flying United.

Unfortunately we reckon that all these companies are as bad as each other. What a shame. But do love it when the "little person" gets one over on the big corporations. Even if you take out insurance for musicians I wonder how much protection you get. We're sure that plenty of people must put videos up about companies they hate but you need someting extra special in order to attract so much attention.
